Highlights of S&W

Sent via email to sickandwrongpodcast@hotmail.com. Should there be a "Highlights of S&W" section for the lazy and/or developmentally disabled listener?

I highly suggest you guys incorporate a brief "Highlights of S&W" section where you tell the SWarmy "for a particularly amusing episode" to :
a) Listen to a particular story on a particular episode (give time that it starts - where it ends)

b) Particularly funny intro segments (such as Episode Oct 19th, 2010 - First talking about farts, then about airport security)

It could be a once a month deal, takes 5 minutes, and is awesome for looking into historic, hilarious episodes.
I often think, "I´ve got to share this with someone". This would make life easier.

It will make people able to recommend a particularly funny segment to a friend, rather than telling someone, "listen to this 1.5 hour long podcast because it´s funny". Some friends of mine don´t have that much time to decide if the show is for them or not.

So, would the Highlights be a new segment on a once a month show were past clips are played, or would they be uploaded somewhere else like youtube or the pupuplayer has a quick fix people can show their friends?

If there was an easy way to just select the segment from the podcast and send a link that plays directly just that segment, it wouldn't hurt. I'm gonna see if there's a player that supports things like that, if yes, I install it in here somewhere.

I'll look into it this Sunday. However, it's sort of unlikely that such a player is already written. And I don't have the knowledge to write one from scratch.

Yeah, having short clips of the best moments is sure to attract a ton of new listeners. I've seen them in other sites, I still like whimpering toothless chav's idea of uploading them on youtube, since they can be posted on forums and facebook so easily.

Just make sure it doesn't play audio on its own while entering the site, that shit's so annoying.

I'm not exactly sure what the guy wants. I think he's talking about setting up an SW Highlights section on the forum where he can send people he doesn't really like.

This sounds like a good idea but could you also do a best bits montage to put on itunes as a one off. Like a demo to entice people to listen to the whole show and ultimately become long term listeners.

Isnt the highlights section essentially the Podcast Feedback section?

Or is this guy saying he wants someone else to find something interesting and tell people about it? Which again is podcast feedback. Im wondering if the emailers ever been on the forum...
