I'll be there Monday April 18. It's only one night but I plan to hit several pubs. Can you recommend any spots that I won't be murdered or raped in and are not tranny bars?
Ok Camden is Pretty good, i guess hipsterish in a way, safe area really. I know you been to London before, so dont wanna teach you to suck eggs, but its quite segmented, all by the tube system (which is safe) so if you want a curry you go brick lane, Shorditch is full of fashionable boho types, Leicester Square is full of Japanese people taking pictures. I reckon you would like Camden Town best, loads of cool shit and maybe a dozen or so sweet bars.
Want any bits an pieces to help stay awake on your short visit?

Camden Town - pubs
Definatley Camden Town Dee, Soho isn't what it was, just a load of horrible media wankers and pick-pockets. You will fit right in in Camden.

I agree, few beers by the canals and stuff, rockabilly bars an depending what time you get here your missus would probably like the markets there too.
