Psychiatrists are full of shit. I spoke with one at a wedding and proved it. You're better of talking to a nutritionist.

Their probably going to look at your web searches and when they see the forum and podcast give you a lobotomy.

Are you in a good hospital though? Like one of those old Victorian ones with all the wings and farms and stuff?

Do you know that insane asylums, when they were first created were literally places where crazy people could just take a break from the real world and try to get into their own rhythms? Hence the word asylum. They were completely self sufficient; based on the belief that if a crazy could learn to work in a functioning society if introduced to it slowly. So they would farm their own food, get their own water and even produce their own electricity. They had their own churches and graveyards. They had well structured days. Then they started overflowing and doctors wanted to "cure" them of their "disease" of the brain. Their psychopathy. So they started using shock treatments, lobotomies, group therapies. The crazies stopped working for themselves, trying to integrate. Now we have drooling people in wheelchairs watching snow on a day room TV and wizards living under bridges talking to the roadkill they scrape off the highway. Completely incapable of being "normal".
Not to say that some mental illness cant be kept in check. Shock treatments work, to my knowledge. Bipolar meds keep a patient in check when he takes them.

Why go to the extreme of checking yourself in somewhere? Youre not violent. (I know this because all it seems you do is eat and sleep for the duration of a day). Why not just look up a therapist? I mean, if its meds youre looking for cant a Yellow Pages psychiatrist hook you up with some? What are you getting out of your stay? Is it working?

Boy do I have a story for all of you. At the time of my mental hospital stay I was 15 and had (still do) psychosis. I was committed via 5150 (California code for suicidal institutionalization in late September 2010. While I was there I experienced the most horrific night of my life. There was a 14 year old girl whose name was Vanessa if I remember correctly. While I was there she was pregnant with her second child and her arms were missing probably 40% of the skin off of them from so much cutting. This girl was always screaming and assaulting staff and throwing food and shit. Everyone was afraid of her and completely stayed clear of her. One night she finally lost it. She smashed the desk in her room to tiny pieces (the thing was made of heavy wood) and threw parts of in at the window cracking bullet proof glass. This girl was the fucking Hulk. I was in my room covering my ears trying not to cry when I finally decided I was goIng to kill her. I honestly went into complete basic survival mode as I opened the door. She was in the hallway being held by 2 separate staff. She bit one of staff members arms so hard that the skin was only loosely held on. She also scratched open the other staff members faces. I began to walk toward her when a huge guy, like fucking gigantic ran at her holding a bunch of syringes. The other injured staff members grabbed her as the huge guy injected her ass with 4 shots of animal tranquilizer. I had never before heard a human being make such a loud noise. I ran back into my room and tried to sleep, which I couldn't, until the adrenaline wore down.

Its kind of sad to think that the scariest moment of my life was caused by a 14 year old. And I swear i am absolutely telling the truth.

While I am a fervent supporter of punitive psychiatry, I don't think you have the right to do that. You're just robbing society off its money. Suck it up, man up and stop eating like a fucking swine.

Try the low-carb diet. It gives you the right to eat all meat/fish/eggs/salads you can get inside yourself, just don't eat anything else. It's not so fucking difficult as to go and handcuff yourself to a bed in a fucking mad house. Food isn't heroine.

But oh well. If you can't help but institutionalize yourself, I guess it's Darwin at his best. Go on, fuck yourself up.
