I love that doc. They did another documentary about the low budget Filipino movie scene called Machete Maidens Unleashed!. It's in my Netflix Instant queue but I forgot about it until now. I'm going to go fire it up.

I make no apology. The movie is a comical masterpiece. Both Mozart and Salieri are pathetic, one can't help but mock them, there they stand in some abstract comical heavenly plain above with their tragic roles in life. Plus the silly mannerisms of the movie, Oh the beauty of it! its like mana from South of Heaven enveloping me in its loving mantle.

The only tragedy I see in this movie is that Salieri invested tens of thousands of hours on music, and the injustice of being outdone by a young twat. This is quite tragic.

Mozart was already playing for the Pope when Salieri was a no one in a small village, so in theory Mozart would have had more hours then Salieri.

The movie kinda reminded me of what something Lord Byron once said, claiming that poetry was separated from the individual. This explaining why he was fucking his half sister and sucking cock on the side, being a total scoundrel but able to write such beautiful pieces.

By the way, are you feeling pity for the patron saint of mediocrity bester?

Not a great movie, but something different.



The best thing of this movie is the character of Charlie Prince, which kinda looks like Wackerle.



I found the ending of this movie to be beautiful. The audacity of hope in a cruel world. Everyone else who has seen it believes its the saddest and most nihilistic thing they've seen in their life.



This was supposed to be one of the scariest movies in English. Its decent and will make you laugh in several scenes, but lacks the modern love for torture.

I was talking about the movie. He wants to be like Mozart, his father laughs and asks if he wants to be like a monkey but his father didn't understand his love of music. And he prays to jesus to be the best composer and makes promises of being religious and not fucking every minute of his life....

Other then Mozart died at 30 I and his music makes me go in a Clockwork orange like trance I know nothing about his real life.
