That is a pretty confusing scene as it's quite rapey, yet he doesn't seem to mind much. If I remember it right, the boy (who is intimidating and not very nice to Stephen, a bully I guess) tells him to be behind the toilets near some field. He goes, boy shows up, bends him over and fucks him. Somewhat forcefully too. I think he writes something along the lines of how it was really painful, but he knew then he was gay.

Oh, and on the topic of homo's at boarding school, I think that's just inevitable. I attended boarding school for a bit of my high school years, but mine was a mixed school. It would appear that if you have a bunch of teenagers basically in heat, make them share a massive room (walls usually don't reach the ceiling) and then put the closest adult supervision out of earshot they will all constantly try to fuck each other. Sadly for me, a mixed school meant that the girls were too busy trying to figure out ways to sneak to the boys side at night for me to lure them into my trap.
